This summer has been great!
I was fortunate to get a spot as a RNLI lifeguard working on the beaches close to home. Its been a good laugh working with an epic crew and to top it all of I won "Rookie" of the year. :)
Also this summer there has been A lot of time to reflect back on the past dealing with the raw emotions of loosing my father October last year, but also trying to focus on the present/futures opportunities..

Take chances, take a lot of them. Because honestly, no matter where you end up. It always ends up just the way it should be.
Your mistakes make you who you are. You learn and grow with each choice you make.
Everything is worth it. Say how you feel always. Be you and be okay with it.
The Wiseman says to learn from other people's mistakes so you don't have to make them yourself.
Its the outcome of the unknown chances we take that make us.
These in my eyes are NOT new year resolutions. It's a way of life. 'Get fit for life, Not just for a month' .
Change bad habits forever not just for a year. All Things In Moderation
It all boils down to Will Power
- Self Discipline
- Self Control
These two powers help us to choose our behaviour and reactions, instead of being ruled by them.
Its should not take a massive blow out or months on end of continuous binge drinking, smoking etc to make you want to stop!
It should not take a prison sentence to make you stop committing a crime!
It should not take near death experience to make you appreciate life!
Or eating to the point you so overweight you need to go on a diet.
No one should have to learn the hard way..Common Sense
We all want to live Long, Happy, Healthy and Wealthy lives don't we?
If there's a change needed to be made, Make It! And make it last Forever!

The last few months of my life has been a big wake up call.
All my priorities have been changed and my approach to life has been altered!
Things go Things change
But the same certainties in life remain the same, At some point we will loose everything we have, But our memories go on....
"it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years."
There are so many people that put up with unhappy circumstances, If you don't like something STOP doing it. If you don't like your job quit. If you don't have enough time, stop watching TV.
The worse you feel the worse life gets, Until you change how you feel.
Life for me is about Family, Friends, Love, Experiencing things, Seeing, Feeling, Hearing, Touching, Learning, Making Memories, Laughing, Health and the list goes on but you get the idea...
Health is one of the most important parts of my life!
Health is Wealth! To maintain a good health is amazing I get to do my favourite things, Eating!!!! Those that know me will know how much I Love to eat haha.
Exercise-The Natural High
If you do it right its one of the most addictive things out there!

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.
“Don't cry because its over , smile because it happened.”
Treasured in my heart you'll stay, until we meet again some day
A thousand words won't bring you back, I know because I've tried; neither will a million tears, I know because I've cried.
The support of people has been amazing! Advice to stay strong, keep my chin up and that it will get better with time. But hands down the best thing for me has been to get on with day to day life because whether i like it or not life goes on around me. I hope the weight have been lifted and that you can now live through me let "My Eyes Be The Windows To The World".Thanks dad for being there for all 21years of my lifeSee you on the other side when I'm doneThanks for all the support from everyone!

I went Snowboarding in March, had an amazing time in the French Alps and to top it off the X-Games was in full swing. We got the best seats in the house on the Super-pipe for the Men's Final, see a few pictures of my time there.
Well apart from surfing once or twice a day I have been following CrossFit
CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.
There program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. There specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.
The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. They have used their same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. They scale load and intensity; They don’t change programs.

October has been a pretty full on month I have been surfing, modelling, training, competing, and travelling.
I started the month with a trip to Polzeath for the weekend where we had some fun solid waves this was the first weekend that I could really feel winter around the corner.
The weekend following the Nike 6.0 contest finalists shots were online and the voting began this was a competition with a difference as there is no judging just four photographers on the beach and who ever gets the best picture wins £500, I gained some coverage from this event, by featuring on the wavelength web site and a full page in the October issue.
I surfed a new wave this month called Daymer bay. We went to Daymer because Fistral (my local break) was as big as it gets and was not that inviting, so me and good friend Matt and his dad made the 40 minute journey. When we arrived it was high tide with some fun little waves wrapping around the point into the bay, we waited for the tide to drop out suited up and got amongst it.
This month I also did a photo shoot for Nalu Beads they are a company based in Croyde the photo shoot was in Woolacombe. I gained some really great shots.
I then stayed in Croyde for a following two weeks to train before my competition in Newcastle.
I left Croyde on Thursday to travel up to Newcastle with Ground Swell to compete in the UK Pro Surf Tour event
After the long drive the night before Saturdays surf was not the most appealing it was 3-4ft, howling onshore, raining and absolutely freezing. Luckily the open division was in 1st which gave me time to adjust a little and watch a few heats before my own. I won my 1st heat progressing through to the semi-final on Sunday. Nice early night and funny banter with the Groms. Sunday morning started with breakfast in Mc Donald’s (not the best idea.) The surf had calmed down a little but still was cold and windy, I was the 1st heat in the water. I was 3rd till the last few minutes when a good looking left came through I took off and gave it my all two back hand turns was awarded an 8.5 which was the highest scoring wave of the event. With this score the tables turned and I progressed through with a 1st in the semi-finals. I was feeling confident but in the final my winning streak was ended as I only could find one good scoring wave with no backup score I finished 3rd overall.

The past few months have been some of the most testing times in my life, crazy highs and lows.
These are some of the quotes which have kept me happy and positive for the people who have needed me most!
I feel great
Even though we got mad things to deal with
Happiness is all in the mind
Let's unwind, and find a reason to smile
I'm just glad to be livin'
Leavin' my bad times behind
I know we're gonna make it
It's not too late, No!
We're gonna make it
Yes I know
We're gonna make it
It's not too late
We're gonna make it,Yeah
So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more dangerous to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun."

SRI LANKA SURF CHAMPIONSHIP
Contests this year have been one of my many focuses I have also been traveling a lot with my surfing from coverage to competitions in Sri Lanka, photo shoots in London and a photo trip to France .
As this year has been a tough one for sponsorship I was thrilled to secure a tight sponsorship deal with Santa Cruz who have helped me out with my surfing so far this year, I have also recently been sponsored by a Errant who are going to be a huge help in the cumming future. Not to mention Duffs Shoes for their ongoing support...so its all looking positive :)
